Hi, FWIW responding here 2 years later.
I believe this is not a bug. You have to use the -a switch to change the album instead of the tracks. Furthermore, you have to change the field albumartist instead of artist. I did the same mistake and documented it here. https://discourse.beets.io/t/why-is-album-not-moved-if-albumartist-artist-album-is-changed/759 I suggest that this bug will be closed, but I leave this decision to the maintainer of the package.
