Hi, Don't use: "fvwm -replace ..." to do this, either:
1. Issue FVWM a Restart command via FvwmCommand or FvwmConsole, or key/mouse binding; 2. Send the FVWM process a USR1 signal. That said, I'd question why you think restarting FVWM is helping you in the first place. What is it that's making FVWM slow, do you think? -- Thomas Adam
