This is probably because you revert the passwords when you replied to debconf
questions (I know that these questions are not well formed). 
I new maintaining this package. I want it as clean as possible. But I have
never found problem when upgrading this package.

The rights are well positionned.


I can confirm the bug here too. Debian sarge using mantis 0.19.4-3.

I set up mysql and mantis differently from the ASSUMED caveats of the post install script and it fails EVERY TIME.
The scripts messup predefined values and REAL values : I set up a database with a different name (not bugtracker) and a different admin login (not mantis, not root either).

You must fix the script because one can't simple trick the script every time he wants to upgrade mantis.
