Hi, I'm attaching an strace. I found that on my system synfig looks for .la files which aren't there, then it looks for .so files which aren't there (though the corresponding .so.0 files are). I found that if I install libsynfig-dev, then "synfig --targets" runs successfully. The strace is with libsynfig-dev /not/ installed.
