Package: www.debian.org Severity: wishlist If our source files as the base for the final websites are using some special characters instead of the correct HTML character code especially RDF functionality can break on the user side.
For example the usage of '©' instead of '©' or '©' will provoke XML parsers to stop with displaying an error message. Other symbols that fall into that category are the ampersand symbol (&), the "euro" sign (€) but also the trademark sign (™). The build process should try to detect such symbols within the HTML language tags and finally fail with an error message or replace the wrong character with the correct HTML character code.
