Please test both packages available in
http://people.debian.org/~glandium/
The 1.8.0.1-5 version is the 1.8.0.1-5 version rebuilt against all
latest versions of build dependencies, so that we can see if the crash
is related to that or not.
The 1.8.0.1-6pre7 is basically a 1.8.0.1-6 version built with debugging
symbols, so that when you crash, you can display a full and useful
backtrace ("bt full" command in gdb)
