I am already waiting for a new version from 2011 (ubuntu bug report): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mawk/+bug/716920 Since then I always replace the package manager version of mawk with the last version available on https://invisible-island.net/mawk/mawk.html (Desktop and servers).
