Package: amd64-microcode Version: 3.20181128.1 Severity: normal I'm not sure whether this is the correct package to report it against, but a web search indicated it could be something with microcode.
I recently updated my BIOS on my Asus ROG CROSSHAIR VII HERO MB and the changelog contained the following: Update AGESA 0070 for the upcoming processors and improve CPU compatibility. ASUS strongly recommends installing AMD chipset driver 18.50.16 or later before updating BIOS. Chipset driver sounds like a windows thing, so I didn't install a driver. Since installing the BIOS update (yesterday), I've had 2 spontaneous reboots today and found the following in dmesg: [ 0.024007] smpboot: CPU0: AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Eight-Core Processor (family: 0x17, model: 0x1, stepping: 0x1) [ 0.024007] Performance Events: Fam17h core perfctr, AMD PMU driver.
