Package: amd64-microcode
Version: 3.20181128.1
Severity: normal

I'm not sure whether this is the correct package to report it against,
but a web search indicated it could be something with microcode.

I recently updated my BIOS on my Asus ROG CROSSHAIR VII HERO MB
and the changelog contained the following:

Update AGESA 0070 for the upcoming processors and improve CPU compatibility.
ASUS strongly recommends installing AMD chipset driver 18.50.16 or later
before updating BIOS.

Chipset driver sounds like a windows thing, so I didn't install a
driver.

Since installing the BIOS update (yesterday), I've had 2 spontaneous reboots
today and found the following in dmesg:

On
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/log/
I did find find several commits referencing 18.50, like:
2018-12-14 amdgpu: update polaris11 fw for 18.50 release

And that date is later then the package version indicates.

Feel free to reassign to another package and/or ask for more
information.
