Package: fetchmail Version: 6.2.5-12 Severity: normal The manpage promises that "all progress/status messages that are normally echoed to standard output during a fetch" are supressed when using option --silent. This is not true when retrieving messages via ODMR.
When no mail is beeing retrieved, it is indeed silent, but when mails are transferred, the message "fetchmail: receiving message data" is echoed to stdout. This seems to be a regression from woody, I didn't notice the behavior there. This bug is particulary annoying when fetchmail is used in a cronjob :( regards, Reinhard -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-1-386 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages fetchmail depends on: ii adduser 3.59 Add and remove users and groups ii base-files 3.1.2 Debian base system miscellaneous f ii debconf 1.4.30.11 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.8.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7e-2 SSL shared libraries -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
