Package: firefox Version: 65.0-1 I created a session of my normal i386 sbuild chroot, and installed sid's firefox package in it.
Then: $ mkdir d $ cd d $ HOME=`pwd` DISPLAY=:0.0 firefox & [1] 512 $ ExceptionHandler::GenerateDump cloned child 553 ExceptionHandler::SendContinueSignalToChild sent continue signal to child ExceptionHandler::WaitForContinueSignal waiting for continue signal... There is also an apologetic dialogue box about how it crashed and would I like to try to restart it. I tried creating /run/user/<myuid> which was missing, in case that was the cause. FYI this is blocking me investigating: Position of autofill dropdown covers the focused field (Ubuntu only) https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1331934 which affects me with the firefox-esr in stretch. I have a report from another Debian user who has the same problem. I thought I would try sid and if sid had the bug I would UTSL or something. This bug is very irritating and quite awkward to work around. In case it's relevant, here is the list of filesystems mounted in my chroot: /dev/mapper/vg--mariner2-firefox on /run/schroot/mount/firefox type ext4 (rw,relatime, data=ordered) proc on /run/schroot/mount/firefox/proc type proc (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime) sysfs on /run/schroot/mount/firefox/sys type sysfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime) udev on /run/schroot/mount/firefox/dev type devtmpfs (rw,nosuid,relatime,size=8185916k,nr_inodes=2046479,mode=755) devpts on /run/schroot/mount/firefox/dev/pts type devpts (rw,nosuid,noexec,relatime,gid=5,mode=620,ptmxmode=000) /dev/mapper/vg--mariner2-lv--home on /run/schroot/mount/firefox/u type ext4 (rw,relatime, data=ordered) /dev/mapper/vg--mariner2-lv--root on /run/schroot/mount/firefox/tmp type ext4 (rw,relatime,errors=remount-ro,data=ordered) /dev/mapper/vg--mariner2-lv--volt on /run/schroot/mount/firefox/volatile type ext4 (rw,relatime, data=ordered) Thanks, Ian. -- Ian Jackson <ijack...@chiark.greenend.org.uk> These opinions are my own.
