If by that you mean that monitoring-plugins provides the symlink, that sounds reasonable. I'm generally not a fan of ePN and disable it in most plugins I use, as real perl doesn't suffer from the ePN limitations. My general recommendation to users is to disable it in Icinga or patch the plugins in question to disable it.
