Package: python3-markdown Version: 3.0.1-2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
Package version in Debian is affected by upstream bug #725 [1]. It causes HTML entities to be escaped twice when codehilite extension is used. This is common setup in pelican package and really diminishes value of that package. Upstream has provided fix for that issue in PR #727 [2], but has not yet released version with that patch merged. Upstream patch applies cleanly to Debian package and does fix the issue, as I verified on my system. Please release python3-markdown package with upstream patch until new version is available to general audience.
