Package: wine Version: 4.0~rc4-2 Severity: normal I checked the patch (in bug 904041, not what was actually checked in to the source code) and I see that it only checks for /run/user, which does exist on my system.
I do have pam-systemd, but not XDG_RUNTIME_DIR, as was requested in the other bug. I manually created /run/user/1000 and everything works. For me, this is a highly customized situation (PHP via a web page runs wine and uses stdout from the windows executable to return results to PHP) so I don't mind a hacky solution at all. Am I right in thinking I could set XDG_RUNTIME_DIR to a safe temporary directory somewhere and that would be fine? It seems the real fix would be to check for the actual $UUID directory, rather than just /run/user. -- Package-specific info: /usr/bin/wine points to /usr/bin/wine-stable. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.13.0-1-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages wine depends on: ii wine32 4.0~rc4-2 wine recommends no packages.
