Hi, yaz in Debian is very old (four-and-a-half-years old, mainly due to my inaction, sorry). There has been a bug against it requiering update (#915369) as it was blocking the removal of icu-config (#898820). Hugh McMaster (working on the icu-config removal) helps me to package the last version of yaz and checked the reverse dependencies. The updated package is in experimental (5.27.1-1) It would be good if the new yaz package can reach buster, mainly due to the age of the code. In any case, as we were not sure to be on-time for the freeze, the initial problem (usage of icu-config) has been fixed by a small patch in unstable (4.2.30-4.1).
