Thanks for pointing to the bug. To make progress on the debian packaging, I see three options: a) Wait for upstream to make a release (cf. https://github.com/opencontainers/image-tools/pull/200) b) upload with an epoc c) upload as 1.0.0~rc2+really.rc1-1 Given that option a) didn't work out for over half a year, I'd suggest to proceed with option b) or c).
