I am not sure why lmms ended up in Debian Edu repos to begin with, but suspect it is because the initial maintainer was part of the Debian Edu team. When he went missing (busy elsewhere, I believe), I spent some time on it to make sure it did not drop out of testing. I would be happy to see the package maintained elsewhere, and happy to see people with more spare time to spend take over the maintenance. So by all means, take lmms and run with it. :) But please do a better job than we did. :) -- Happy hacking Petter Reinholdtsen
