Indeed, when i "apt purge fonts-noto-color-emoji" i also stop having a crash with emacs-gtk when rendering certain high-plane Unicode characters (they render as unintelligible boxes instead, of course, but that's better than crashing i guess. thanks for finding that workaround! so, how do we fix it? --dkg
