Package: lsof
Version: 4.89+dfsg-0.1
Severity: important

I intend to take over maintenance of the lsof package, unless I hear
from the maintainer.

There is currently an open RC bug (#916160) that is fixed in newer
upstream releases. I emailed a backported fix for the RC bug 3 weeks
ago (also with an offer to help co-maintain or take over the package),
but haven't heard back.

In addition, the last lsof upload from the maintainer was in 2009
(version 4.81-1). There have been various new releases since then, with
3 separate NMUs (4.81+dfsg-1.1, 4.86+dfsg-1, and 4.89+dfsg-0.1). The
latest upstream version is 4.91.

I've relied on lsof for a very long time, and would like to see it
well-supported in Debian.

As described in
https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/ch05.en.html#idm1880,
this bug is open for comments and objections for 21 days. If there are
no objections, I plan to upload the latest version of lsof to the
DELAYED queue and officially take over the package.

Thanks,
Andres
