The migration from unstable to testing checks (among other things) for installability, so the dependency on mariadb 10.3 will prevent mysql-defaults from migrating to testing before mariadb-10.3, even without this bug. If that is the only reason for this bug, it is unnecessary. Please note that the RC bugs and autopkgtest regressions for mariadb-10.3 and mysql-defaults (and their rdeps) will prevent the migration to testing and need to be fixed first. Cheers, Ivo
