after I install of linux-image 2.6.15-1-k7-smp (or 2.6.15-1-k7 or even 2.6.15-1-486) and reboot i can no longer use keyboard or mouse. I must log in from ssh. this is very problematical :)! dmesg|grep input dmesg|grep input iput: PC Speaker as /class/input/input0 cat /proc/bus/input/devices I: Bus=0010 Vendor=001f Product=0001 Version=0100 N: Name="PC Speaker" P: Phys=isa0061/input0 S: Sysfs=/class/input/input0 H: Handlers=kbd event0 B: EV=40001 B: SND=6 while usually expect to see mouse and keyboard! All is fine in this fresh install otherwise on debian sarge kernel 2.6.8-2. My system is a fresh install on this system I just did a fresh sarge install, desktop packages selected. I upgrade to sid. (apt-get update ;apt-get dist-upgrade) with 2.6.8-2 kernel system works fine. (i dont bother to configure Xorg at this point, i use console and disable gdm so i can use system ) I then try to apt-get install linux-image-2.6.15-1-k7-smp (same problem with install of -k7 or -1-486 2.6.15 kernels too). The new kernel is installed, and then when i reboot - no response to keyboard or mouse. what is going on? thanks similar problem with new etch install beta. no keyboard with install invoked!
