It is impossible to boot using latest kernel.

It was possible to boot using Grub menu either selecting an older kernel
(4.18.0-3) or using « Recovery mode » and kernel 4.19.0-1.

I tried to modify /etc/lvm/lvm.conf as explained but it did not work for me.

Hello Jean-Michel, have a look at the last note from the initial Xavier's message: your boot problems are likely caused by an udev bug, not by lvm. As several other lvm's users, while waiting for a better solution, you should probably downgrade udev to previous version 239.
