Bug#917166: I can confirm that my machines and up in the same state

I upgraded two machines. Did not see any problem during the upgrade. But
now both of the machines have problem booting. One I can get started by
starting in recovery mode. The other boots anyway. But that machine I
never boot into any GUI.
