aah, ok.  I added the mkdir before I changed the copy_dir sub

ok.  I'm pinning Woody on this particular box and archzoom and
libarch-perl are being installed from testing/Sarge
that's where this problem has stemmed from, coreutils is in Sarge only

coreutils is marked as Essential in Sarge so there's no need to
suggest/depend on it.

yeah, that's fine.  I'll keep my local patch until I upgrade the box to
Sarge (whenever that goes stable)
