Package: ifupdown Version: 0.6.4-4.10 Severity: wishlist
Hello, I've recently installed 'diald', for PPP dial-on-demand support. While I'm not sure how to configure my system, to have it make any use of the diald-monitored 'sl0' interface, yet I suppose that I should have it figured it out, eventually. My request is simply so: That there might be something done for ifup and the 'interfaces' configuration file, for the 'inet' interfaces -- maybe even integrated with the 'diald' debconf stuff, somehow -- with the point that the user would be able to specify something like 'iface pppX inet diald' and supply any necessary parameters after that (e.g.: 'provider', perhaps, though I don't understand diald's configuration) ... such that 'ifup pppX' would get diald to be all nicely going, and such that 'auto pppX' would have the right diald setup, automatically started, at system boot -- as usual, heh. I hope this makes sense; if it doesn't, I'd be glad to describe more of what I mean, here. Fully, thank you. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i586) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages ifupdown depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.42 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii net-tools 1.60-10 The NET-3 networking toolkit -- debconf information: ifupdown/convert-interfaces: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
