Hi, same situation here. After short googling how to detect container environment (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20010199/how-to-determine-if-a-process-runs-inside-lxc-docker) it seems to be non-trivial task. There is already virt-what package, doing exactly that. Maybe that is the right way to go.
