The ara package has been orphaned for 7 years. It has open bugs about relying on APT implementation details (that is now no longer a given) plus lintian found that it also relies on the dpkg database layout. Given the low popcon, the lack of interest in adoption of the package and the fact that it relies implementations that have or will change, I think ara should be removed from unstable.
