I'm not sure I understand .. I suggested that vcg allow itself to be started in interactive mode, but without specifying any initial file. I guess it is well-established that upstream is dead, and so anyone using/shipping this package is on their own. Granted, I don't expect most Debian packages to deviate strongly from upstream, but if this software isn't going to be maintained, then we might as well just drop it now..otherwise we should be willing to accept reasonable feature requests, related to either of the packaging or development.
