Package: network-manager Version: 1.14.4-4 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
What led up to the situation, and what did I do: I tried to make wireless led working on Asus N56vj notebook. The fix has taken the form of udev rule ACTION=="add",KERNEL=="asus- wireless::airplane",SUBSYSTEM=="leds",ATTR{trigger}="rfkill-none" With this rule the led works fine, but network manager always tries to start wifi after reboot, and is very persistent in doing so. I was able to stop this behavior only by making systemd unit, that soft-blocks all wireless modules and changes WirelessEnabled to false in NetworkManager.state. A and now wireless switch (Fn+F2) starts to work only after I manually enable wifi once in plasma-nm applet. What I expected - the behavior of wifi to be identical with and without the trigger set (exept for the working led, of course) -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.18.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages network-manager depends on: ii adduser 3.118 ii dbus 1.12.10-1 ii init-system-helpers 1.56 ii libaudit1 1:2.6.7-2 ii libbluetooth3 5.43-2+deb9u1 ii libc6 2.28-1 ii libcurl3-gnutls 7.62.0-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.58.1-2 ii libgnutls30 3.5.8-5+deb9u4 ii libjansson4 2.9-1 ii libmm-glib0 1.8.2-1 ii libndp0 1.6-1+b1 ii libnewt0.52 0.52.20-8 ii libnm0 1.14.4-4 ii libpam-systemd 239-14 ii libpolkit-agent-1-0 0.105-22 ii libpolkit-gobject-1-0 0.105-22 ii libpsl5 0.17.0-3 ii libreadline7 7.0-5 ii libselinux1 2.6-3+b3 ii libsystemd0 239-14 ii libteamdctl0 1.26-1+b1 ii libudev1 239-14 ii libuuid1 2.32.1-0.1 ii lsb-base 10.2018112800 ii policykit-1 0.105-22 ii udev 239-14 ii wpasupplicant 2:2.6-18 Versions of packages network-manager recommends: ii crda 3.18-1 ii dnsmasq-base 2.76-5+deb9u2 ii iptables 1.8.2-2 ii isc-dhcp-client 4.3.5-3+deb9u1 ii modemmanager 1.8.2-1 ii ppp 2.4.7-2+4 Versions of packages network-manager suggests: pn libteam-utils <none> -- no debconf information
