This fix, effectively, seems to be in 1.3.0, which is now in unstable. For one thing, there's no evidence that $Id$ is the correct "original" text - it could have been something like $Id: total random garbage $ instead, in which case restoring the text to $Id$ does not really help. And yes, that's a bit contrived. I'll forward this to the upstream developers for consideration.
