Package: emacspeak Version: 47.0+dfsg-5 Severity: important * What led up to the situation? I installed the EMacspeak package. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I ran "emacspeak," to get emacspeak temporarily working before adding it more perminently to my .emacs file. * What was the outcome of this action? I got a "permission denied," error. * What outcome did you expect instead? Emacspeak should have come up talking with the espeak synthesizer. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.18.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages emacspeak depends on: ii adduser 3.118 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.69 ii emacs 1:25.2+1-11 ii emacs-gtk [emacs] 1:25.2+1-11 ii make 4.2.1-1.2 ii perl 5.28.0-3 ii tcl 8.6.0+9 ii tclx8.4 8.4.1-2 Versions of packages emacspeak recommends: ii emacspeak-espeak-server 47.0+dfsg-5 ii sox 14.4.2-3 Versions of packages emacspeak suggests: pn eflite <none> pn emacspeak-ss <none> ii espeak 1.48.04+dfsg-7 pn psgml <none> pn w3m-el <none> pn xsltproc <none> -- debconf information: shared/emacspeak/groupies: shared/emacspeak/rootgroup: shared/emacspeak/fake: shared/emacspeak/database: shared/emacspeak/invaliduser: * shared/emacspeak/port: none shared/emacspeak/tcl: tcl shared/emacspeak/invalidport: shared/emacspeak/program: espeak * shared/emacspeak/device: espeak -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.18.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages emacspeak depends on: ii adduser 3.118 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.69 ii emacs 1:25.2+1-11 ii emacs-gtk [emacs] 1:25.2+1-11 ii make 4.2.1-1.2 ii perl 5.28.0-3 ii tcl 8.6.0+9 ii tclx8.4 8.4.1-2 Versions of packages emacspeak recommends: ii emacspeak-espeak-server 47.0+dfsg-5 ii sox 14.4.2-3 Versions of packages emacspeak suggests: pn eflite <none> pn emacspeak-ss <none> ii espeak 1.48.04+dfsg-7 pn psgml <none> pn w3m-el <none> pn xsltproc <none> -- debconf information: * shared/emacspeak/port: none shared/emacspeak/invalidport: shared/emacspeak/rootgroup: * shared/emacspeak/device: espeak shared/emacspeak/database: shared/emacspeak/groupies: shared/emacspeak/program: espeak shared/emacspeak/tcl: tcl shared/emacspeak/fake: shared/emacspeak/invaliduser:
