Package: fireqos
Version: 3.1.6+ds-7
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

Fireqos fails silently when asked to shape input traffic on an interface with a
16-character name,
and drops all the incoming packets from the interface instead.

The cause appears to be the IFB interface name (nominally something like
enx78e7d1ea46da-ifb)
being truncated to 16 characters, which results in fireqos attempting to create
an IFB interface
with the same name as the original adapter.

The bug has been reported to upstream (
https://github.com/firehol/firehol/issues/351 )
along with a possible mitigation, but hasn't been addressed for 4 months.

Thanks,
Jan
