With some headphones and earphones, the sound output is distorted, e.g. the
left and right channels are swapping constantly, this issue is especially
serious with human speech.
I used a Sony MDR-AS800AP earphone directly inserted to the sound card's audio
output, the sound is distorted. However, if I hold the button on the earphone
the output is normal but at a higher volume.
I can confirm that the earphone and the sound card have no problem because it
plays normally on an Android smartphone or on dual-booted Windows. The problem
is certainly in ALSA.
I also tested with other earphones, some of them have similar problems. Some
earphones have an "Android/Apple" switch, and the distortion happens when the
switch is set to "Apple".
I am using ALSA directly without PulseAudio or other Poetterware.
The configuration can be found in the attachment.
