Package: emacs24-common Version: 24.5+1-11+deb9u1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Newly upgraded system now running emacs 24.5.1. After sending mail through the exim (aliased to sendmail) route, an error occurred and the used sent-mail buffer remained on screen (though the mail was in fact delivered). A debug trace showed that sendmail-send-it was invoking switch-to-buffer-other-window with a zero rather than nil argument. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? In github, specifically at https://github.com/emacs-mirror/emacs/blob/d9eff02736c975dc5035e02249ff17c8a068d203/lisp/mail/sendmail.el is a snapshot of sendmail.el dated 30mar15 which was described as fixing something like this bug. I grabbed a copy of this version and installed it in the local lisp directory. * What was the outcome of this action? It now works ok. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.5 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_GB.utf8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages emacs24-common depends on: ii dpkg 1.18.25 ii emacsen-common 2.0.8 ii install-info 6.3.0.dfsg.1-1+b2 Versions of packages emacs24-common recommends: pn emacs24-el <none> Versions of packages emacs24-common suggests: pn emacs24-common-non-dfsg <none> ii ncurses-term 6.0+20161126-1+deb9u2 -- no debconf information
