Could you please expand on what "makes other packages fail to build"
means?  There are at least 4 things you could mean:

Do you mean that building aegis itself fails and does not complete?
The accompanying patch would seem to indicate this is the case.

Do you mean that by compiling aegis-4.21, without install, other
packages fail to build after that?  Presumably because the "./configure;
make" somehow escapes its work area.  If so, what files are involved
outside the build area?

Do you mean that by compiling and installing aegis-4.21, other packages
fail to build after that?  If so, what install files are involved? 

Do you mean that compiling installing and running aegis-4.21 that other
packages subsequently fail to build?  Is it packages being built via
aegis, or packages being build outside Aegis' control?  Either way, what
files are involved?
