No, DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS is also supposed to be supplied by a user. The packaging should not modify it either. Refer to Debian policy section 4.9.1 for details. Of course, you should check whether the user supplied nocheck in DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS, but you should not change its value. Helmut
