However, post install I noticed many, many GTK+X libraries. I chose 'standard system utilities' and 'ssh' only during debconf. After a bit of examination, I noticed this in my apt/history.log: Commandline: apt-get -o APT::Status-Fd=4 -o APT::Keep-Fds::=5 -o APT::Keep-Fds::=6 -q -y -o APT::Install-Recommends=true -o APT::Get::AutomaticRemove=true -o APT::Acquire::Retries=3 install task-english task-ssh-server python2.7 reportbug wamerican liblockfile-bin hdparm groff-base debian-faq apt-listchanges perl ucf doc-debian traceroute wget man-db bash-completion mime-support gettext-base python perl-modules-5.26 dbus bzip2 netcat-traditional file python-minimal bind9-host python3-reportbug lsof libpam-systemd xz-utils manpages ncurses-term krb5-locales reportbug-gtk telnet openssh-client Not sure why, but 'reportbug-gtk' was installed. This pulled loads of GTK / X11 packages in. (Is this too soon in the process to report debian installer bugs?)
