Package: emacsen-common Version: 2.0.8 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
I noticed mails from apt saying I had some updates to do, so fired up aptitude and got a conflict. I suspect that it has long been the case that * emacs23 depends on emacs23-bin-common * emacs23-bin-common depends on emacs23-common * emacs23-common depends on emacsen-common It appears that now * emacsen-common conflicts with emacs23-common Thus the recent update to emacsen-common's dependencies forces uninstallation of emacs23, or never update anything again - aptitude has a conflict to resolve, that it can't resolve without removing the last usable version of my editor. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers oldstable-updates APT policy: (500, 'oldstable-updates'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.17.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) -- no debconf information
