Package: debhelper
Version: 11.4
Severity: normal

debhelper provides debhelper-compat 9, 10, and 11, but not 12. So,
packages that want to try out the new compat level 12 currently have to
go back to using debian/compat. Could you please provide
debhelper-compat 12?

If there's some reason not to do this, could you please document that
reason (and the recommended alternative for packages using that compat
level) alongside the documentation for debhelper-compat itself?

(Speaking of which, it appears that debhelper(7) doesn't yet document
debhelper-compat Build-Depends.)
