Package: steam-devices Version: 1.0.0.55-1
Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Uninstalled the steam-devices package and used the recommended udev rules from the Steam community. The recommended rules suggest 0666 for Valve's controllers, instead of 0660 as is used in the steam-devices rules. * What was the outcome of this action? The controller was detected by Steam(big picture mode). It seems that changing the permissions MODE from 0660 to 0666 for Valve's devices in /lib/udev/rules.d/99-steam-controller-perms.rules allows the devices to work as expected. It may be necessary to change them all to 0666 to allow them to function normally. I can only test the Steam Controller as I don't have any of the rest listed. 0666 may be required now due to recent changes in Steam. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.17.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE= (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled steam-devices depends on no packages.
