less /usr/bin/tinyca
line 50 to 54

bindtextdomain("tinyca", "./locale/");
textdomain("tinyca");
So it looks in ./locale
Right would be
bindtextdomain("tinyca", "/usr/share/locale/");
after changing this everything worked fine.
