Well, the gbp might have come from a config, or be misfiring finger
macros.

Deleting these refs is rather drastic unless the whole thing was just
a bit of playing about.

How about

  Branch is managed by git-debrebase ($ffq_prev exists), but quilt
  mode ($quilt_mode) implies a split view.  Pass the right --quilt
  option or config.  Or, maybe, run git-debrebase
  forget-was-ever-debrebase.

Along with providing that new subcommand.  That would delte a
debrebase-last, which might also be necessary sometimes.
