How does that happen?  libcom-err2 *supplies* libcom_err2.so.2 and
installs it in the tree.  And it has no postinstall scripts that would
touch the initramfs?  So who or what is rebuilding the initramfs?  And
why can't it just get the copy of libcom_err2.so.2 that is installed
on the system?

Do you have a dpkg.log that shows what happened?
