Package: intel-microcode
Version: 3.20180703.2~deb9u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Normal apt-get upgrade, which only updated intel-microcode and rebuilt
the initfs
Kernel was 4.9.0.7 and prior to intel-microcode update was booting ok.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
As normal boot panics, booted to previous kernel (so this report's info
is on prior
      4.9.0.6 kernel.

Unable to test notebook undocked as battery inadiquate, bearly holds
any charge
Yet to try dis_ucode_ldr kernel parameter.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
Everything works as normal on previous kernel.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected the update to function as normal. This is one of several
old 32 bit intel
systems with different CPUs I've Debian Stable installed on, but just
this Dell
Latitude C610 is affected. Not doublechecked all have non-free contrib
firmwares selected
      / installed.
