Not sure what pluma is, but GNOME via GIO/GVFS provides access via admin:///. If you e.g. open admin:///etc/hostname in gedit, you get a polkit prompt and after successful authentication, you can edit files in /etc. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
