thanks for reporting this bug and sending a patch upstream. I actually spottet this a while a go too when wanting to use the samb plugin, but didn't got around to actually look at it properly. Until there's a new netdata version out, I've cherry-picked your patch to Debians netdata repository, so the next upload will have it (lacking DM upload privileges for netdata yet, I can't do it myself, sorry).
