Package: googletest Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
Christopher James Halse Rogers filed a merge request in the Salsa Git repository on June 6th which builds googletest with -fPIC: https://salsa.debian.org/debian/googletest/merge_requests/1 Here is the rationale he stated in the aforementioned merge request: "There are no performance requirements in the gtest code, and this allows the pre-built library to be used in dynamically-linked code." This is currently blocking the mir package from being uploaded to the archive, and since your name is listed in LowThresholdNmu, I am going to do a non-maintainer upload following Gianfranco Costamanga merging Christopher's merge request yesterday.
