Hello Norbert, thanks a lot for working on this! I tried out your patch, but for my testcase, which is the Emacs Lisp Reference Manual in Emacs CVS (available for Debian in the emacs-snapshot package), it had no effect. :-(
With LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 and running "make info" from the Emacs top level directory, I still get "Nutzeroption" as output in the info files, for @defopt in the source and "Funktion" for @defun, for instance.
