I'm seeing a behavior which I suspect is another manifestation of bug #783986. ifupdown also ignores mtu lines for inet6 stanzas:
iface eth0 inet6 manual mtu 9000 Results in eth0 having a MTU of 1500, not the specified 9000. I'm suspecting ifupdown was written to ignore certain portions of inet6 stanzas on the basis they should duplicate inet stanzas. This is okay until there is no inet stanza. Really looking at the present situation I wonder whether there is still any real need for "inet6" stanzas. For address and gateway you can distinguish based on whether periods or colons are used, as long as netmask is specified via <addr>/<mask>. Most of the remainder is simply duplicated between "inet" and "inet6". -- (\___(\___(\______ --=> 8-) EHM <=-- ______/)___/)___/) \BS ( | ehem+sig...@m5p.com PGP 87145445 | ) / \_CS\ | _____ -O #include <stddisclaimer.h> O- _____ | / _/ 8A19\___\_|_/58D2 7E3D DDF4 7BA6 <-PGP-> 41D1 B375 37D0 8714\_|_/___/5445
