Aspell should honer this encoding when modifying the file. Ah! That's useful, I've switched them now to use utf-8 as encoding. I still think at this point in time, it would be nice if aspell would emit files always in utf-8 with the encoding forced to that. When it comes to the default from the specification file, I guess it would be nice of the language files had their default encoding also set to utf-8, but I guess that will mean cloning and assigning to any of them that do not currently have that.
