Package: e2fsprogs Version: 1.43.4-2 Based on behavior of `tune2fs` and `mount` it seems the MMP protection somehow detects what amounts to its "home" host is. Problem is there is no function to change whatever the actual parameter is, nor any mention of where it comes from.
I've noticed a difference between two ext4 filesystems which have MMP protection turned on. On one doing `mount <mountpoint> -o remount,rw` is fast and the other it is slow. From this behavior I'm pretty sure the MMP feature records some parameter and uses that to mark what its "home" host is. Mounting read-write anywhere but the "home" host is slow. In this case the MMP feature was enabled for one filesystem by enabling the feature from a hypervisor, the other had the feature enabled inside the guest itself. There appears no mechanism to change what this home host is. -- (\___(\___(\______ --=> 8-) EHM <=-- ______/)___/)___/) \BS ( | ehem+sig...@m5p.com PGP 87145445 | ) / \_CS\ | _____ -O #include <stddisclaimer.h> O- _____ | / _/ 8A19\___\_|_/58D2 7E3D DDF4 7BA6 <-PGP-> 41D1 B375 37D0 8714\_|_/___/5445
